Seating 10 Comfortably

This dining room has it all! Mid-blue toned “meditative” paint accentuates the trim and ceiling for high dining room drama. Gorgeous classic silk pleated draperies frame the bay window. Color amps up the vibe with plush orange barrel back chairs and a multicolored silk rug. Guests are going to enjoy the textured grasscloth, warm woods, art and hopefully the food!

Project Overview:

The clients requested a dramatic dining room with comfortable seating for ten guests. Four cozy comfortable chairs can fit in on each long side of the table totaling seating for ten guests. Attention was given to traffic flow patterns as well. As for the window treatments, inverted pleat silk window treatments were chosen for simplicity and elegance in a timeless cream shade. In order to get the right proportions, drapery hardware that bent at the wall corner allowed for continuation of the drapery fabric width to balance with window width. Now, there is balance and proportion and great visibility to the outdoor landscape.

Although this room has lots of color compared to the other open rooms, the same colors exist in those rooms but only in a more muted fashion. The dining room takes nearby blue and uses that to adorn the window and wall trim, and ceiling in a high gloss sheen for drama. Rust tones used in the living room get dialed up to a textured orange used in the area rug and gorgeous dining room barrel back arm chairs. A quatrefoil cabinet is echoed in the kitchen’s backsplash. Warm woods, organic surfaces and original art round out the space and provide unity throughout the rooms.
